Projects

Enactus Pitt currently is working towards FOUR different projects. These initiatives are student driven ideas intended to raise the standard living in our community and around the world.

Green Thumbs

Green Thumbs is in its second year of existence. Green Thumbs Movement is part of a Student Organization Enactus at
Pittsburgh Campus to promote a sustainable cycle of re-educating,
replenish, and restore the endangered seedlings native to the Pittsburgh area. We are selling seed kits which contain instructions and additional information as to how to plant them, how to cook the full grown plants and much more. The seed kits are obtained from a local farmer and expert on these seeds.

ChronoDono

ChronoDono is a service that addresses the high costs and time wasted by large businesses planning community outreach programs for their employees.
We are implementing an internal software platform and creating an
external website. The website serves as a “database” for volunteer
opportunities, with contributions from community members and other project generators. Our mission is to build and sustain a service to match companies in need of volunteer opportunities for their employees with relevant organizations in need of
volunteers.

#secondchancePIT

Second Chance Pittsburgh is a community initiative to develop a safe and functional clothes room at the bottom of a church in Braddock, Pennsylvania. Our mission is to partner with and empower a local entrepreneur of retail company, Deadbury Dead, who has close ties to the church to create a sustainable clothes room for the people of the community. Our team is focusing on the construction of a new public bathroom to make it handicap accessible and environmentally friendly. We have driven our initiative online with Twitter handle, #SecondChancePIT.

Fair Trade

Our task force is working with a local entrepreneur to start a non-profit fair trade business that empowers women in Pittsburgh, students at the University of Pittsburgh, and women of Malawi. Enactus students will be selling handmade women and children's clothing crafted by skilled women in Malawi to consumers in the United States. All of the profits made from the sales will be used to benefit the same town in Malawi where the clothes came from. Our project empowers the Malawi women and thier community.
